What You'll Need:

Pro Tip: If you need guidance on how to melt your Merckens chocolate, check out our Merckens chocolate melting instructions

How to Make Monster Rice Crispy Treat Pops

1. Melt the Merckens Chocolate Melts: Begin by melting your Merckens chocolate melts. These chocolate melts are known for their smooth and creamy texture, with a light vanilla white chocolate flavor that makes them perfect for coating treats. Whether you choose to melt them in the microwave or over a double boiler, be sure to stir frequently to keep the chocolate smooth. See our microwave melting instructions and learn how to melt Merckens chocolate here.

2. Add a Lollipop Stick: Take your rice crispy treats and gently insert a lollipop stick into each one. Dip the end of the stick into the melted Merckens chocolate and reinsert it into the treat. This little step acts like glue, securing the stick in place. Give the treat a light press around the stick to ensure it’s snug.

3. Chill: Place the pops in the refrigerator for about 5-10 minutes until the chocolate sets up and the sticks are firmly in place.

4. Dip and Decorate: Once the sticks are secure, dip each rice crispy treat into the melted Merckens chocolate. If your chocolate has started to thicken, give it a quick reheat. After dipping, gently tap off any excess chocolate and place the pop onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle on jimmies for monster hair and press icing eyes into the chocolate to create fun, monster faces. I used 3/8 inch white and black icing eyes and 1/2 inch white and black icing eyes, but you can use any sizes and colors you'd like. I also used lavender jimmies sprinkles but you can have fun trying different colors!

5. Let the Treats Set: Pop the decorated treats back in the fridge for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.

6. Enjoy: Your Monster Rice Crispy Pops are now ready to serve! They make the perfect Halloween party treat or fun snack to share with friends and family.
