For the no muss, no fuss candy maker, try these chocolate covered pumpkin pretzels! They’re easy to make-- you only need pretzels, Merckens candy coatings, and sanding sugar. You can make a large batch of pumpkin pretzels in just a short amount of time, making them perfect for large Halloween gatherings.
Makes about 80 dipped pretzels
What you’ll need:
One bag of Mini Pretzels
One pound Orange Merckens Candy Coatings
One pound Dark Green Merckens Candy Coatings
One package (4oz) Orange Sanding Sugar
Disposable piping bag
Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt orange merckens candy coatings in a deep, medium-sized bowl 20 seconds at a time in the microwave, stirring in between intervals. (Here’s how to melt merckens candy coatings)
Dip pretzels using a fork or two prong dipping tool. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess melted chocolate from the pretzel. Place dipped pretzel onto the parchment paper and sprinkle with orange sanding sugar. Repeat until all pretzels are dipped and sprinkled. Once all pretzels are dipped, place in the refrigerator until hard, about 5 to 10 minutes
Melt a ½ cup of dark green candy melts in a disposable piping bag. Microwave 20 seconds at a time, squishing the bag in between intervals to distribute the heat.

One pound White Merckens Candy Coatings
Two packages of Icing eyes ½ inch
Disposable piping bag
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Melt ½ pound of White Merckens Candy Coatings in a deep medium size bowl 20 seconds at a time in the microwave, stirring in between intervals (Here’s how to melt Merckens Candy Coatings).
Dip pretzels using a fork or two prong dipping tool. Tap the fork on onto the side of the bowl to remove excess melted chocolate from the pretzel. Place dipped pretzel onto the on parchment paper. In a disposable piping bag melt, the remaining half pound of white merckens candy coatings 20 seconds at a time in the microwave. Squish the bag around in between intervals to distribute heat. Cut the tip of the bag and drizzle over top of the pretzels leaving a space for the icing eyes to peek out.
Refrigerate for 5 minutes or until hardened.
Bat Chocolate Covered Pretzels

1 Package Mini pretzels
1 Pound Dark Merckens Candy Coatings
1 Pound White Merckens Candy Coatings
Icing Eyes ¼ inch
Toothpicks (to draw the mouth and fangs)
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
