Supplies for making peanut butter surprise inside ice cream cones candies

Things you’ll need:

Mini Ice Cream Cones
Large Marshmallows (any flavor or color)
Peanut butter filling (recipe here)
Merckens candy coatings in Milk, White, or Dark
Jimmies sprinkles
Sixlets
Parchment paper

Step 1
Make peanut butter filling - See our easy to make peanut butter filling recipe HERE.

Step 2
Melt Merckens candy coatings 20 seconds at a time, stirring in between intervals. See how to melt Merckens HERE.

Step 3
Line a large baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Coat the inside of the mini cones by filling them one at a time with melted candy coatings. Pour out the excess back into the bowl. Place the cones upside down onto parchment paper to harden at room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4
Once the inside chocolate coating has hardened, fill each cone with about one teaspoon of peanut butter filling and stand them upright. After all of the cones are filled, dip the tops into melted candy coatings and roll the edges in jimmies (sprinkles). Immediately top with a marshmallow and let set at room temperature for about 20 minutes.

Step 5
Dip the tops of the marshmallows into melted merckens, and tap the edges to make chocolate drips down the sides. Top with a sixlet and sprinkles, let harden for 10 minutes.

Make these mini ice cream cones extra cute by wrapping individually in a 3 ½ by 5 ⅕ cello bag tied with colorful curling ribbon, or serve on a pretty platter since they’ll get eaten in the blink of an eye!
